Now you can watch the first-day-first-show of new films anywhere you like or even enjoy the grand screening of movies. From big shops to marriage halls, open rooftops, and fields, this kind of cinema experience is becoming possible. We are initiating this campaign through “Janta Cinema” in association with Central India’s cinema distributors and exhibitors on September 23rd in Indore. These insights were shared by renowned film distributor and producer Yusuf Sheikh, who is also the founder of “Janta Cinema: Artinii Pro India.”

He stated, “Janta Cinema is a result of advanced digital cinema screening technology.” In our conversation, we attempted to learn more about his vision and the technology involved. Here are the key highlights.

Yusuf Sheikh: A Leading Film Distributor:

Yusuf Sheikh serves as the Managing Director of “Parsept Pictures,” a 30-year-old film production, distribution, and production company. He is an active member of IMPAA (Indian Motion Pictures’ Producers’ Association) and FFI (Film Federation of India).

Modern Screening Technology:

Yusuf Sheikh explained, “Digital cinema player is an incredibly modern digital technology. It is currently being used in 74 countries worldwide. Even Cannes Film Festival has adopted this technology. The uniqueness of this technology is that it benefits not only film producers, distributors, and cinema owners but also our entire nation. Through this, we can bring cinema to remote areas. We have set a target to build 30,000 cinemas in rural areas, and this is achievable with the cooperation of central and state governments.”

He emphasized that this technology, with its lower cost due to digitalization, is an incredible boon for our nation. It allows us to showcase the latest films on the first day, first show. He said, “The best part is that this technology is not susceptible to piracy. It comes with a multi-layer security system that is challenging to breach, providing relief to producers.”

Cooperation from Film Industry:

Yusuf Sheikh further stated, “We have demonstrated these aspects to Mumbai’s film producers, who are associated with various organizations. Several major producers have had discussions on this matter. The encouraging aspect is that Bollywood producers are on board with this initiative. They have given their approval to advance this revolutionary digital technology.”

This initiative extends beyond Mumbai; they have also held discussions with film producers in Chennai, representing South Indian film producers. Sheikh was delighted to share that they too have embraced this groundbreaking digital technology.

Indore Marks the Beginning of a Significant Journey:

Yusuf Sheikh states, “After two crucial phases in Mumbai and Chennai, we are now commencing the third phase of this campaign from Indore. On September 23rd, we will meet with all distributors and exhibitors from Central India. We will acquaint them with this technology and address any queries they may have. This marks the formal initiation of ‘Janta Cinema’ across the country. Prior to this, we will hold a press conference in Indore on September 22nd.” He also mentioned that Indore’s film exhibitor and producer, Rakesh Sabharwal, are actively involved in their campaign.

Cost-Effective Film Screening:

Yusuf Sheikh explains that you can host screenings of this kind of cinema in various places, from large shops and marriage halls to open rooftops and fields. This benefit can be availed by dhabas (roadside eateries), corporate companies, clubs, and residential societies. There’s no need for elaborate arrangements; you can simply use a projector and a computer to enjoy high-resolution film screenings with excellent sound. Sheikh says, “We are integrating this technology into our democratic system. On our website, we have stated that ‘Janta Cinema’ means ‘cinema for the people, by the people, and of the people.'”

How to Create ‘Janta Cinema’:

Yusuf Sheikh reveals that you can establish cinemas of this kind in spaces as small as 2000 square feet. The construction costs are minimal, ranging from 8 to 10 lakh rupees. Loans can also be obtained for building such cinema houses. In places of necessity, a business can also be established through film screening. For more information, you can visit the website of ‘Janta Cinema’ at jantacinema.artinii.com. According to Sheikh, the ‘Janta Cinema’ player can be downloaded from their website and can run on your laptop or computer with Windows 10. You can use your projector to showcase films, essentially starting it as a business.

Big News for Film Producers:

Mr. Sheikh states, “‘Janta Cinema’ and its technology bring good news not only for film producers but also for single or multi-screen cinema owners. Distributors who are searching for cinemas to release their films can benefit from this technology. Similarly, individuals interested in creating such theaters as a business venture can also explore this option. For viewers who wish to watch films in remote areas or places both within and outside the country, this technology is truly remarkable.”
